Topic of my Action Research : Blended Learning for Spanish Bilingual Students

  1. Purpose of Your Study

 The purpose of this study is to investigate how the blended learning model impacts the engagement and academic performance of Spanish bilingual students.

2.  Fundamental Research Question Essential Question:
How does the blended learning model impact the engagement and academic performance of Spanish bilingual students in the 5th grade?

3.  Research Design Mixed-Methods:

Both qualitative and quantitative methods will be used to obtain a comprehensive view of the impact of blended learning. Combining both methods allows for validation of findings through different types of data.

Quantitative: Assess academic performance metrics such as test scores and assignments.

Qualitative: Collect qualitative feedback through observations, interviews, and student reflection journals.

4.    Most Appropriate Type of Data to Collect

  • Quantitative Data: Standardized test scores and assignments.

  • Qualitative Data: Classroom observations, interviews with students and teachers, student reflection journals.

 

5.    Types of Measurement Instruments

  • Surveys and Questionnaires: To collect quantitative data on student academic performance and engagement. Observation Protocols: To record interactions and behaviors in the classroom.Interview Guides: To obtain detailed perspectives from students and teachers. Reflection Journals: To capture students' experiences and feelings about blended learning.
